For Brasserie Appelmans & Absinthbar, located in the heart of Antwerp, we are looking for an enthusiastic Assistant Restaurant Manager to help ensure smooth daily operations, happy guests and a positive working atmosphere.

Assistant Restaurant Manager
Together with Alberto, Wim and the rest of the team, you will help deliver excellent service and a warm welcome every day. You keep an overview, lead by example and are always ready to roll up your sleeves to make sure everything runs smoothly — from preparation and the first greeting to the final coffee of the day. You will also gain experience in the administrative and organisational aspects of the role, with plenty of opportunities to develop your skills and grow within our group.

JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Prepare the service. You coordinate with the kitchen, bar and front-of-house team to ensure everyone is ready for a smooth service.
  • Lead the team. You motivate colleagues, help new team members settle in and teach them the ins and outs of the job.
  • Put guests first. With your positive attitude and personal approach, you make guests feel welcome and give them every reason to return.
  • Keep an eye on the numbers. You understand how to drive revenue while keeping labour costs under control.
  • Handle administrative tasks. Processing cash registers and preparing online staff schedules are all part of the job.
  • Pay attention to detail and communication. You spot great initiatives and memorable moments that deserve to be shared on our social media channels.
  • Stay hands-on on the floor. You actively take part in service, monitor guest satisfaction and step in wherever needed.

PROFILE

  • You have a genuine passion for food, drinks and hospitality.
  • You have at least one year of experience as a Manager or Assistant Manager in the hospitality industry.
  • You know how to lead, motivate and train people, and you lead by example.
  • You communicate confidently and enjoy working with different teams.
  • You have strong organisational and administrative skills and feel comfortable working with commercial figures.
  • You are hands-on, take initiative and keep a cool head when things get busy.
  • You understand that happy guests and a strong team are the foundation of a successful restaurant.

WORKING HOURS

You will work five days a week, with Sunday as your fixed day off.
